As soon as it starts to get colder outside, we start craving hot drinks. And while we can buy them at our favorite cafes or get serving-size packets from the supermarket, many drinks are actually really easy to make at home and such is the case with hot cocoa. The Pioneer Woman shared this super simple recipe for hot cocoa that takes only five minutes to make and makes eight servings. The mix keeps in the pantry for up to six months, so you can stay warm all fall and winter long!

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups confectioners’ sugar
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cups powdered milk or instant nonfat dry milk
  • Mini marshmallows, optional

Instructions:

  1. Mix the confectioners’ sugar with the unsweetened cocoa in a large bowl, making sure to get rid of any lumps.
  2. Stir in the powdered milk or instant nonfat dry milk and mix until everything is combined.
  3. Add the mini marshmallows to the mix if you want.
  4. When you make the hot cocoa, combine equal parts hot water and cocoa mix. Stir the mix with the hot water and enjoy!
