If you want to take a dinner presentation up a notch, make these simple dinner rolls and turn them into the shape of pumpkins!
Instructions
- In a bowl, add in 1 packet of active dry yeast along with ½ cup of whole milk that is heated to 110 F and 1 teaspoon of sugar. Bloom the yeast for 10 minutes.
- In a stand mixer bowl, add the yeast, ⅓ cup of brown sugar, 4 tablespoons of softened butter, 1 1/2 teaspoons of kosher salt, 2 of teaspoons pumpkin pie spice, 2 eggs, 1 cup of pumpkin puree, and 4 cups all-purpose flour.
- With the paddle attachment, mix until well combined. Then, switch to the dough hook to knead for 8-10 minutes or until smooth.
- Put the dough in a greased bowl covered in a clean towel to rest for an hour.
- Divide the dough into 16 balls and use kitchen twine to create the pumpkin shape.
- Loosely put the twine around the ball to create 4 sections. Then go diagonally twice more to make 8, tie, and make an indent on the top for the “stem”.
- Let the balls proof for another 1 1/2 hours, and bake for 20-25 minutes at 350F, and top with a pecan as the “stem”.
