Mocha is one of the most underrated coffee drinks and with all of the options out there, it’s often forgotten. Many times mocha drinks are too sweet or made with poor-quality chocolate syrup, but when they’re good they’re a real treat. With these tips, you can make a professional-quality mocha drink at home.

Quality Chocolate

An amazing mocha starts with quality chocolate. A dark chocolate bar will give your drink a good balance and it will mix well with the coffee.

Coffee Roast

Chocolate is a strong flavor, so mix it with a medium to full-body roast to compliment the sweetness of the chocolate and the creaminess of the milk. Look for coffees that have flavor notes of chocolate and chocolates that have flavor notes of coffee.

Salt

Add a pinch of salt to your drink to balance out the sweetness of the chocolate.

Shake It

For iced mochas, shake it like a cocktail in a shaker to cull down the hot espresso.
