Ingredients
- 1 cup of raisins
- 1 cup of sultanas
- 1 1/2 cups of caster sugar
- 1 tablespoon of black treacle
- 2 tablespoons of candied peel
- 4 tablespoons of water
- 1/4 cup of chopped nuts
Instructions
- In a large saucepan, heat the fruit, candied peel, nuts, water and sugar.
- Bring to a boil, and then reduce the heat.
- Simmer for 25 minutes, adding more water if necessary to stop it sticking.
- Once cooled, decant into glass jars. These will keep in the fridge for up to two weeks.
