Reaching for sugary snacks when your energy flags? Ditch the crash and grab a delicious, healthy alternative—chocolate date protein balls. These bite-sized wonders are packed with natural sweetness and satisfying fiber, making them the perfect pick-me-up that keeps you going strong. Ready to roll? Here’s the recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup pitted Medjool dates
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup nut butter (almond, peanut, or cashew)
  • 2 tablespoons chia seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • Optional: 1/4 cup chopped nuts, shredded coconut, or dried fruit

Instructions:

  1. In a food processor, blend the dates until a sticky paste forms. Scrape down the sides as needed.
  2. Add the oats, cocoa powder, nut butter, chia seeds, and salt. Process until well combined, stopping to scrape down the sides again if needed.
  3. The mixture should be sticky but hold its shape when pressed. If it’s too dry, add a tablespoon of water at a time until you reach the desired consistency.
  4. Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls using your hands. Coat with chopped nuts, coconut, or dried fruit (optional).
  5. Enjoy fresh or store the balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
