This Olive Tapenade is as Easy to Make as it is Delicious

If you like olives you will love this olive tapenade. It is very delicious and very easy to make and makes for a great homemade gift for family and friends this Christmas.

Ingredients:

  • 8oz of black or green olives
  • 3 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • Capers
  • 1 anchovy (optional)
  • Chili flakes (optional)
  • Sundried tomato (optional)
  • Juice of ½ a lemon
  • Fresh thyme

Instructions:

  1. Pit your olives if they have stones in them. Add them to a food processor and blend along with your olive oil, garlic, and capers.
  2. If you are inclined to you can add any combination of anchovies, chili flakes, or sundried tomatoes at this stage. They will all bring different flavor profiles to your tapenade and it just depends what sort of tapenade you fancy.
  3. Add your thyme and lemon juice before blending your tapenade once you have added any of these extra ingredients. Your tapenade is now ready to serve. It is delicious simply spread on toast or can be used as an alternative to pesto as a pasta sauce.
