If you’re in the mood for a quick and flavorful meal, Pasta al Tonno is the perfect choice. This classic Italian dish combines the richness of tuna with the comforting appeal of pasta, creating a delicious and satisfying dinner in no time. With just a few ingredients, you can whip up a meal that’s both simple and scrumptious.
Ingredients:
- 12 ounces of pasta (spaghetti or penne work well)
- 1 can of tuna in olive oil, drained
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can of diced tomatoes
- 1/4 cup of white wine (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh basil or parsley, chopped, for garnish
Instructions:
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- While the pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute. If using, pour in the white wine and let it reduce for 2-3 minutes.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes and red pepper flakes, if using. Cook for 5 minutes, then add the drained tuna. Stir gently to combine and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until heated through. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat with the sauce. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese.
- Plate the pasta and garnish with fresh basil or parsley. Enjoy!
