If you’re in the mood for a quick and flavorful meal, Pasta al Tonno is the perfect choice. This classic Italian dish combines the richness of tuna with the comforting appeal of pasta, creating a delicious and satisfying dinner in no time. With just a few ingredients, you can whip up a meal that’s both simple and scrumptious.

Ingredients:

  • 12 ounces of pasta (spaghetti or penne work well)
  • 1 can of tuna in olive oil, drained
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can of diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup of white wine (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil or parsley, chopped, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. While the pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute. If using, pour in the white wine and let it reduce for 2-3 minutes.
  3. Stir in the diced tomatoes and red pepper flakes, if using. Cook for 5 minutes, then add the drained tuna. Stir gently to combine and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until heated through. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat with the sauce. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese.
  5. Plate the pasta and garnish with fresh basil or parsley. Enjoy!
