This is the time of year when kids are going back to school again, which means it’s time to start preparing a list of healthy school lunches for them. Read on to find out a few useful tips on how to prepare a healthy lunchbox for your kid.

Quality Protein

Always make sure to pack foods that are rich in protein because they will keep your kid feeling full and energized. Lean meats like chicken, beef, or turkey are the best sources of protein, but there are plenty of other protein-rich food your kid will love like eggs, Greek yogurt, peanut butter, nuts, and more.

Veggies are a Must

Kids are usually not big fans of veggies, but you must encourage them to eat more by including at least two vegetables in the lunchbox. You can do this by incorporating them into sandwiches or muffins or by packing raw veggies like carrots or celery with a tasty dip.

Kids can easily forget to drink enough water, so it’s important to pack them a bottle of water to keep them hydrated. You can also include milk, homemade juice, or iced tea.
