Why You Should Eat Strawberries Quick

We hope you’re in the mood to talk about strawberries, because we’re about to dive right in. But we’re not going to talk about any wild strawberry recipes, or their health benefits, or anything like that. In fact, we’re going to address a topic about strawberries that don’t often get brought up: the fact that when you buy them, you absolutely must eat them super quick if you know what’s good for you, and here’s why.

They Spoil Hyper Fast

The thing about strawberries is that their shelf life is insanely short. Once they’re picked, they start to lose their freshness real quick. So when you snag a batch, you really need to make sure to gobble them up within a few days to enjoy their peak flavor and all the good stuff they bring to the table. If you don’t, you’ll find that they get soggy and gross, and that’s a real shame.

Don’t Be a Hero—Just Eat Them All

If you live in a house with multiple people, perhaps you feel bad eating a lot of strawberries at once. Perhaps you want to save a few for others. That’s all cute and merry, but oftentimes when you do this you end up forgetting about them, and no one else ends up eating them. And then, before you know it, they need to be thrown in the garbage. So if you’re going to town on strawberries, don’t hold back. Just eat however many you want while they’re still good.
