Chili-lime seasoning is just as awesome as it sounds. Bits of lime zest combined with chili powder is acidic, spicy, and all around amazing. You can sometimes find it in the spice aisle of the grocery store, but not always, and when you do it’s usually not fresh and full of salt. If you want to enjoy this delicious flavor combination simply make it yourself! Here’s a recipe and fun ways to use it.

Spice Blend

To make this seasoning, you will first need to zest a lime. Take a sharp knife and run it through the zest a couple of times after zesting to make sure the pieces are as small as possible. Then, add chili powder, a bit of salt, stir well and store in an airtight container.

How To Use It

If you love salmon but want to take it up a notch, make this chili lime version.  Marinate the fish in olive oil, lime juice, soy sauce, and the chili lime seasoning. Leave it in the fridge for at least 20 minutes to soak up the flavor and then bake in the oven alongside peppers, onions, and more limes! Serve with a squeeze of lime at the end.
