White wine sangria is not as popular as red wine sangria, but it definitely should be. One thing that’s great about it is that it’s very versatile. There are tons of different flavor combinations that can make white wine sangria fruity or herbal depending on your preferences. Here are our favorite white wine sangria combinations:

Cucumber Melon

Cucumber is usually associated with gin-based drinks, but a white wine-based sangria pairs very nicely with it. Add a dash of melon liqueur such as Midori for an extra fresh taste. This sangria also calls for an appropriate garnish, which is where mint or basil comes in. Add a sprig of either for a nice green sangria garnish.

Strawberry Jalapeno

This is one of the odder white wine sangria combos, but the jalapeno adds that spicy kick that sangria sometimes needs. Some watered-down pomegranate juice combined with a nice riesling will make this drink both fruity and spicy. The jalapenos should be sliced and gently pressed into the glass with some strawberries. You want to be able to taste all of the flavors.

Ginger Lychee

No white wine sangria list would be complete without a ginger lychee combo. Lychees are notoriously sweet little fruits that blend well with sliced ginger, lemon and lime slices, and a dash of elderberry juice. A pinot grigio tends to be a nice white wine base since it’s not too sweet which allows the fruit flavors to shine through.
