A Few Things to Keep in Mind When Using Butter for Frying Food

Most people use sunflower, cannoli, and other oils when frying food, but many prefer doing it with butter. Frying food this way has its ups and downs, and if you’re not sure how to do it, here are a few things you should keep in mind.

Keep the Heat Low

The first thing you should know about butter is that it’s best used at low heat. Frying butter on high heat can turn into a total disaster, and that’s why you should always pre-heat your pan on medium-low heat and keep it low as you go along to stop the butter from burning down.

Portion Control

There’s no need to use a huge amount of butter for frying. Add enough butter to the pan to coat its bottom and avoid adding more unless the recipe you’re using calls for it.

Oil Mix

Using butter for frying your food doesn’t necessarily mean you have to avoid oil altogether. If the recipe calls for high heat cooking, you can use both oil and butter to stop your dish from burning down while still giving it a delicious buttery flavor.
