Fall has finally befallen us and you know what that means. As you hit up your local farmers’ stand for all of your favorites like squash, pumpkin, and apples, we’ve got you covered with a brief guide to cooking and baking with these seasonal favorites.

Butternut Squash

Butternut squash is a super versatile fall favorite and it can be roasted as a simple side dish, pureed in a creamy soup with pumpkin seeds on top, or used in a pie. You can even use it as a sauce for risotto or pasta! It’s the perfect blend of warmth, spice, and sweetness to add depth to your holiday meals this season.

Pumpkin

Pumpkins are great for more than just carving. Fresh pumpkins are fun to pick fresh at a farm and can be used for baking and cooking. Whip up a festive pie, soup, bread, or even your very own pumpkin spice coffee syrup. There is no spooky season without a good dose of pumpkin-spiced anything. When using fresh pumpkin, save the seeds and roast them to top off soups and salads!

Apples

Apples are great on their own or in pies, crisps, or with baked apples. They are a fall favorite for a reason and will fill your home with the festive scent of apple harvests and crisp autumn leaves.
