An Easy Recipe To Make Pretty Meringue Hearts

Valentine’s Day is gone, but who says we’re over all of the heart-shaped cookies? This time, we bring you the most beautiful meringue hearts!

Ingredients

For the meringue hearts you should get:
1 cup superfine sugar
4 large egg whites
1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
red gel for coloring

Instructions

Start by preparing a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Get a mixer and blend the egg whites on medium-low speed. Include the cream of tartar, and keep on beating. Start adding the sugar slowly while also beating with the mixer to achieve peaks in the mixture. The goal is to achieve stiff peaks, so you should beat until you get there. To finish off include the food coloring.

Set the oven to 200 F degrees.

Now put the meringue mixture in a good bag with a star tip. Start forming the hearts on the baking sheet. If you love playing with colors, you can divide the mixture and use different food shades.

Place the sheet in the oven and leave it in for 90 to 120 minutes.

Feel free to decorate with small food pearls, sprinkles, chocolate chips and more.
