Best Ravioli Fillings You Can Make at Home

Ravioli, the delightful pockets of pasta, offer a world of possibilities when it comes to fillings. Of course, you can easily find pre-made ravioli in stores, but there’s something special about making your own at home. Here’s a recipe that will have you coming back again and again. 

Ingredients

  • 200 grams of mozzarella
  • 200 grams of ricotta cheese
  • 20 grams of parmesan cheese
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1/3 cup chopped fresh basil (adjust to taste)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Start by grating the mozzarella and parmesan cheese. In a mixing bowl, combine the grated mozzarella, ricotta, and parmesan cheese. Gently fold the chopped fresh basil into the cheese mixture. Stir in the two egg yolks. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  2. With your homemade filling ready, you can start filling your ravioli. Place a small amount of the mixture in the center of each pasta sheet, leaving enough space around the edges to seal them.
  3. Gently lay another sheet of pasta over the top. Press the edges together, ensuring there are no air bubbles. You can use a fork to create a decorative edge.
  4. Boil your homemade ravioli until they float to the surface (2-4 minutes). Serve them with your favorite sauce and enjoy!
