Best Vegan Cooked English Breakfast

English breakfast is one of the best ways to set yourself up for a productive day of work or leisure. But, although they are often associated with animal products such as sausages, bacon, and eggs, this doesn’t have to mean vegans can’t enjoy an English breakfast too.

Here’s how to make a delicious energy-packed vegan cooked breakfast.

Vegan Sausages

Two vegan sausages cooked with a crispy outside and a juicy inside will be heavenly. Being vegan doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy great sausages. There are more and more great vegan meat substitute options, often mushroom or plant-based.

Toast

Serve 1 or 2 slices of toast or fried bread. Top the toast with plant based spread, or fry the bread in olive oil.

Tomato

Cut two large tomatoes in half and fry in olive oil on high heat. You want the tomato to blacken a little but remain soft and juicy within. Season with a pinch of salt and lots of pepper before serving.

Mushrooms

Both large Portobello mushrooms or small button mushrooms are perfect for your vegan cooked breakfast. Portobellos’ are best grilled, button mushrooms are best fried. Season both with garlic.
