These patties are an absolute hit every time we make them. Make sure you thoroughly drain the water from the leek before adding the meat to it so they will stick together when you cook them. It is best served with white rice and a dash of fresh lemon juice.

Ingredients

  • 300 g minced beef
  • 5 leeks
  • 2 finely chopped garlic cloves
  • 1 egg
  • 4 tablespoon of bread crumbs
  • 1 teaspoon of cumin
  • 5 tablespoons of vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. Get rid of the green part of the leeks and then finely chop the white part. Move to a medium-size pot, cover with water and cook until the leeks are very tender.
  2. Drain the leeks and let them cool for 20 minutes. Once cool, squeeze them to drain out as much water as possible.
  3. In a large bowl mix the beef, egg, and bread crumbs.
  4. Add the leeks, garlic, cumin, salt, and pepper to the bowl and mix well.
  5. Create small size meatballs and fry them in a large pan with preheated oil for about 4 minutes on each side until the meat is cooked. Enjoy
