Preparing a cup of coffee in the morning probably doesn’t take you more than a few minutes, but have you ever stopped to think about all the things that need to happen before you can enjoy the delicious beverage? The TED-Ed video below explains the process in detail, so if you want to learn more, don’t miss it.

A Long Journey

The life of your coffee cup begins, appropriately enough, with a coffee plant that grows seeds that are known as coffee beans. The necessary steps include harvesting the beans, processing them, transporting them around the world, and many other things. A lot of people are involved in this process, and as the video mentions, their working conditions haven’t always been fair. It’s humbling to think about everything that needed to happen just so we could carelessly enjoy a cup of coffee whenever we want.
