Easy Cheesy Vegan Sauce

Just because you’re vegan, doesn’t mean you have to leave creamy cheese-like meals in the past. Although there are plenty of vegan cheese choices at the supermarket, in most cases they contain a lot of soy, which is also not good for your body in high doses. Instead, make this sauce and you’ll be getting all the delight of dairy while still putting goodness into your body.

Ingredients

The stars of this sauce are boiled potatoes and carrots, and nutritional yeast. Nutritional yeast gives the flavor of cheese without adding dairy products. The potatoes and carrots give the sauce the texture as well as the color.

Onion powder, garlic powder, cayenne, and salt all give this sauce the well-rounded illusion of having dairy in it, so do not skip it even if it’s just a bit of each.

Method

Combine all the ingredients above with water, olive oil and lemon juice in a blender until really smooth. You can then store this in the fridge for up to a week, but know that it might solidify a bit during that time. Simply put it in the microwave for 30 seconds and it’ll good and gooey again.
