This tuna pasta bake is ideal for those wintery days. It’s super comforting, is packed with veg, and is really simple to make.

Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • 8 ounces of pasta
  • 2 x 5-ounce canned tuna
  • 1 x 15-ounce canned sweet corn
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 large bell pepper
  • 3 cups milk
  • 2 tablespoons of flour
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cups shredded cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350℉.
  2. Chop up the onion and pepper and fry in a large pot until softened and browned.
  3. Put a large pot of salted water to boil. Once bubbling, add the pasta and leave to simmer according to pack instructions.
  4. Meanwhile, heat the oil and then add the flour. Mix this thoroughly, and then gradually add the milk, stirring constantly.
  5. Increase the heat and keep stirring until thickened. Add the cheese and mix in.
  6. Drain the pasta. In a large oven-proof dish, add the pasta and the fried vegetables.
  7. Open and drain the canned sweet corn and tuna, add this to the dish, and then mix together.
  8. Add the cheese sauce to the dish and stir to ensure all is well-mixed. Place this into the oven for 30-40 minutes, until the top is browned.
