Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. white American cheese, cubed or shredded
  • 1/2 cup half-and-half
  • 1 (4 oz.) can diced green chiles, undrained
  • 2 tablespoons canned jalapeΓ±os, chopped (optional for extra heat)
  • 1 small tomato, finely diced

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions:

  1. In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine the white American cheese and half-and-half. Stir continuously to prevent the cheese from sticking.

  3. Add the garlic powder, onion powder, and a pinch of salt to the queso. Stir well.
  4. Just before serving, fold in the diced tomato and cilantro.
  5. Transfer your white queso to a serving bowl or a small slow cooker set on warm to keep it perfectly melty.
