There are certain rules that anyone visiting vinery should follow. Even though wine tasting is meant to be a fun experience, that doesn’t mean that certain rules don’t apply.

When Should You Spit?

You’ve probably seen people spitting in the wine they taste and wondering why don’t they just enjoy it. The thing is, if you drink every sample you get there, you will quickly get drunk and possibly ruin your and everyone else’s experience.

Never Wear Perfume

You may not even think about this, but wearing perfume when going to a winery is a big no-no. Simply put, wine tasting is equally about taste and smell, and it’s clear how perfume can get in the way of that.

Learn How to Swirl

Swirling the wine in the glass is not difficult, but we recommend you practice a little bit at home before trying it with the real stuff. Swirling helps release the aroma and adds to the ceremonial part of the whole experience.

Dress Appropriately

You shouldn’t dress too casual, but also avoid wearing an outfit that belongs to a club. We recommend flat shoes over heels, especially if the tour features seeing a vineyard. In the summer, don’t forget to wear an additional layer because it can get cold inside the wine cave.
