Spaghetti Bolognese

For any meal that uses ground beef, green lentils are the perfect vegan substitute. They are hearty and high in protein and replicate the texture and rich taste of ground beef. They’re also effortless to incorporate, as you can use canned ones in your usual bolognese recipe for a quick and healthy meal.

Egg Mayo Sandwich

Black salt comes from volcanic rock and gives food an eggy flavor. For an egg mayo alternative, just mash up some firm tofu with a sprinkle of turmeric and black salt, and then stir through some vegan mayo. Pop this in a sandwich with some salad for a quick and tasty lunch. 

Tuna Pasta Bake

A great ingredient to buy if you’re vegan is nori, as it gives a fish-like flavor, and it comes from seaweed so is completely natural. You can then add this to mashed chickpeas, along with some diced red onion and capers. This can be used to imitate tuna and works great in a pasta bake with some passata, sweet corn, and vegan cheese.
