Are you a fan of sour candies but looking for a healthier alternative? Sour Patch Grapes are a fun, easy-to-make treat that offers the perfect balance of sweet and sour and is much more nutritious than Sour Patch Kids candy. Let’s jump in.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb of fresh green grapes (seedless)
  • 1/2 cup of water
  • 2-3 tablespoons of lemon or lime juice
  • 1/2 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1-2 teaspoons of citric acid (depending on how sour you want them)
  • Zest of one lemon or lime (for extra zing)

Instructions

  1. Begin by washing and drying the grapes thoroughly. Remove them from the stems.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the water and lemon or lime juice. In a separate shallow dish, combine the granulated sugar, citric acid, and lemon or lime zest.
  3. Dip each grape into the water and lemon/lime juice mixture, then roll it in the sugar and citric acid mixture. Make sure each grape is well coated.
  4. Place the coated grapes on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Freeze the grapes for at least 1 hour.
  5. Once the grapes are set, serve them chilled. They make for a great snack on hot days or a fun addition to fruit salads and party platters.
