Are you craving pizza but don’t feel in the mood to go through the trouble of making it? You can either get a delivery or take a less challenging home option by making a pizza roll using phyllo dough. Pizza rolls can satisfy your pizza cravings, but they can also be a great addition to your cooking arsenal when you are looking to get some finger food for parties or gatherings. Here is how to make them.

  • 5 phyllo dough sheets
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan
  • 4 ounces salami slices
  • 4 ounces pepperoni slices
  • ½ cups tomato sauce
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • Salt

  1. Make an egg wash by combining the egg and 1 tablespoon of water in a bowl and whisking until smooth.
  2. Place two phyllo dough sheets on the working surface. Brush with egg wash and then spread tomato sauce. If you don’t have tomato sauce, ketchup will do as well. Sprinkle with oregano.
  3. Top with a phyllo dough sheet and brush with egg wash. Add salami and pepperoni.
  4. Top with a phyllo dough sheet and brush with egg wash. Add Parmesan and mozzarella.
  5. Close with the remaining phyllo sheet. Brush with egg wash and roll.
  6. After you make your pizza roll, brush with the remainder of the egg wash and pop it in a preheated oven for 30 minutes at 356F.
  7. Cut the pizza roll into slices and dig in.
