Are you looking to treat your loved ones to a festive surprise this Christmas? Well, there’s no more appropriate way to bring in the holidays than with these Santa Cookies. Here’s how you can prepare this scrumptious Christmas treat.

Make The Dough

Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt together in a large bowl. In a separate bowl, whisk butter and granulated sugar together until fluffy. Then, add egg, milk, and vanilla to the mix and combine all the ingredients. Once the dough is ready, divide it in half between two pieces of lightly floured parchment. Refrigerate the mix for 30 minutes until it’s firm while preheating your oven to 350°. Bake the cookies for 8 to 10 minutes until slightly golden.

Prepare The Frosting

Beat butter in a large bowl until creamy. Add powdered sugar and beat until smooth, before adding milk, vanilla, and salt and mixing until everything is combined. Pour two-thirds of the buttercream you have into a resealable plastic bag while placing red food coloring into the remaining buttercream.

Decorate

Spread the red buttercream over the top of each cookie to create Santa’s hat before dipping it into sanding sugar. Put stars of white buttercream onto the cookies to create Santa’s beard and the ball on each cap.
