Make This Delicious Dessert Using Chestnut Puree

Chestnut puree and pre-cooked chestnuts start making an appearance in stores at this time of year, as these natural treats are a staple at Christmas. However, you can use this amazing ingredient to make this incredible dessert at any time of year, especially as chestnut puree should keep for several months in its original packaging.

Chestnut Mousse

Ingredients (to serve 4):

  • 1 pack of chestnut puree
  • 3/4 cup of caster sugar
  • 1 cup of whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons of water
  • 2 teaspoons of cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Heat the sugar and water in a pan, stirring continuously.
  2. Once the sugar has liquefied, remove from the heat.
  3. In a food processor, blend the cream, chestnuts and sugar together.
  4. Stir in the cinnamon, then decant the mousse into glasses or dishes.
