Non-stick cookware is easy to clean and great for preparing quick and delicious meals, but there are a few things to keep in mind if you want your non-stick pan to last for years. Check out a few very common mistakes people make when using non-stick pans.

Abrasive Cleaning Tools

Wash your pan with a soft sponge or a brush instead of using abrasive tools such as scouring pads because they can easily scratch the pan and damage it.

Metal Utensils

You should never use metal utensils or any sharp tools when cooking in a non-stick pan because they can also damage the surface of the pan. Wooden, bamboo, or silicone utensils are by far the best option for cooking with non-stick cookware.

Dishwasher

Needless to say that you should never put a non-stick pan in your dishwasher because high heat and the chemicals could easily damage it. Washing your non-stick cookware by hand is the best way to prolong its life.

High Heat

It’s always best to avoid cooking on high heat because your food could easily burn. Not only that, cooking on high heat will damage the coating of your non-stick cookware and shorten its life span.
