Mooncakes are Everywhere and Here’s the Best Recipe

Mooncakes are one of those Instagram trends everyone has noticed. This recipe is very simple and great even for beginners.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 teaspoon alkaline water
  • 100 g all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons egg white
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 60 g golden syrup
  • 420 g lotus seed paste
  • 1 tablespoon rose-flavored cooking wine
  • 6 egg yolk each, salted
  • 28 g vegetable oil

Instructions:

  1. Combine the alkaline water, golden syrup, and oil together. Include the flour and mix all the ingredients together with a spatula.
  2. Place the dough in a bowl and cover it for 40 minutes.
  3. Combine the wine and egg whites together. Make sure that you dry the egg yolks with paper, then cut them into halves.
  4. Form a tube with the lotus paste and divide it into 12 parts. Make a ball out of each part and set the oven to 180 C degrees.
  5. Combine the egg white with the egg yolk.
  6. Now, divide the dough into 12 parts and make a ball out of each one.
  7. With the help of plastic film make a thin disc from the first ball. Get one lotus paste fall and do a hole in the middle of it.
  8. Add the egg to the inside and make a ball out of it. Wrap it with the dough disc.
  9. Grab the mooncake molds and fill them with your mooncakes. Keep them in for a minute, then take out the cakes. Place them on a baking tray.
