If somebody asked you what you thought America’s favorite comfort food is, you might guess burgers, or perhaps even a nice juicy grilled steak. But it turns out that it’s pizza, according to a survey done by The Harris Poll.
The Numbers
The poll included over 2,000 adults from the U.S. and the results showed that 21% of them would choose pizza as one food they would want to eat for the rest of their lives. 16% of participants mentioned steak, while hamburgers received 13% of the votes. Meanwhile, pasta and tacos both received 11% votes apiece.
If you have a habit of ordering pizza often, then these stats probably make a whole lot of sense to you. As for us, we’re getting in the mood for pizza just from talking about it!
Pizza First and Foremost
This is not the first survey that puts pizza as the #1 favorite food in America. Another one done by California Pizza Kitchen showed that pizza is a favorite “cheat day” food of most of their participants, and also that they feel less guilty if they eat pizza that contains some vegetables.
Pretty much all the millennials who were included in the survey said they’d give up something for a year if they could have free pizza whenever they wanted.
