Quinoa is a plant from the amaranth family. It’s mostly grown for its seeds that are widely used in modern nutrition. While many believe quinoa is a whole grain, technically it isn’t.

Cooking quinoa isn’t much different from cooking rice. Use 1-2 cups of water per 1 cup of quinoa. Put quinoa in boiling water and cook for 15 minutes on medium heat. Let sit for 5 more minutes in hot water after you take it off the stove.
