With the Super Bowl right around the corner, you’ll no doubt want to host a gameday party for your friends and family to remember. Of course, serving the right kind of food will go a long way to achieving this goal. Here’s how to make tailgate tots; an appetizer that will be sure to get your Super Bowl party off to a great start.

Ingredients

  • 32-ounce bag of tater tots
  • 8 slices bacon
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup chopped chives
  • 1 container sour cream
  • 1 2/3 cup sharp cheddar

Instructions

  1. Het up your grill to medium and spread out the tater tots across two disposable pie plates. Grill them for about 20 minutes, stirring regularly.
  2. As you wait for your tater tots to cook, place the bacon in a pan and fry it over medium heat.
  3. Once the tater tots and bacon are underway, it’s time to make the cheese sauce. Put butter into a deep pan and cook over a medium heat.
  4. Place flour into the pan and stir, gradually adding milk so as to create a thin sauce. Then, stir in the cheddar and chili powder, continuing to stir everything.
  5. Throw the tater tots into small jars, topping them off with cheese sauce, bacon, sour cream, and chives.
