When the weather is warm, the best way to enjoy it is to be in the great outdoors. With so many different activities to choose from, there are endless possibilities. However, you can’t just go somewhere unprepared! Whenever you do something outside, you should always have a snack with you, and each snack varies for the activity. Follow this guide to make sure you’re always prepared with the right stuff.

Hiking

When you’re hiking, you are exerting a lot of energy and definitely working up a sweat. Bring snacks that are hydrating like cucumbers and protein filled, such as trail mix.

To make trail mix, combine pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, and whatever nuts you have on hand, and just a touch of dried fruit. Make sure to get unsalted nuts and seeds so you don’t dehydrate yourself more.

Swimming

You can really work up an appetite when you swim, so bring something filling but not too heavy. A great option is a peanut butter and banana sandwich! The peanut butter is full of protein, while the banana has potassium which will help rebuild your muscles after using them so much. If you can, try to use natural or homemade peanut butter.
