Pizza is just one of those foods that is delicious in pretty much every form: homemade, delivery, or restaurant; hot or cold; even with pineapple. But if you want your next-day pizza leftovers to taste as good as they possibly can, here are some tips for how you should be reheating them so they turn out perfect and not soggy. Because, yes, there is a right and wrong way to heat up leftover pizza.

The Wrong Way

We won’t waste our breath. The wrong way to heat up your pizza is in the microwave, because it’ll get soggy and moist.

The Right Way

  • Heat up a nonstick skillet over medium heat
  • Place your pizza slice or slices directly onto the skillet, no need for oil or anything
  • Heat the pizza for a couple of minutes
  • Add a few drops of water to the skillet next to the pizza, not on top of it
  • Cover the skillet with a lid
  • Continue to heat the pizza for a few more minutes
  • Take your pizza off the skillet and enjoy!

With this method, your pizza will have a nice crispy base and crust but also gooey, melted cheese. It’ll be almost just as good as it was fresh, trust us. You’ll never want to put pizza in the microwave again.
