When you think of junk food, you usually picture all the delicious but not-so-healthy snacks that you crave from time to time. But right now, we’re here to dispel the notion that all “junk foods” are unhealthy. There’s an argument that the word “junk” food itself implies unhealthiness, but we’re going to just assume it means a fun snack. So without further ado, here are a couple junk foods (snack) that are healthier than you might think.

Popcorn

Popcorn is often thought of as a movie theater treat, but when it’s air-popped or lightly seasoned at home, it can be a whole grain snack that’s high in fiber. Fiber is great for your digestion and can help you feel full, which can be a good thing if you’re trying to avoid overeating. So why not give popcorn a try when you’re craving some junk food?

Dark Chocolate

Yes, you read that right. Dark chocolate, with its high cocoa content, can be a tasty treat that’s also packed with antioxidants. Antioxidants help protect your body’s cells, which make dark chocolate underratedly a pretty darn healthy thing to eat occasionally. (Emphasis on “occasionally”—we’re not telling you to go to town on it!)
