Steak is such a treat to have at the end of a long day. Being able to cook your own steak at home is a way to save you money, time, and allows you to use your steak in many different ways. You can serve it to guests for an important dinner, or make it at home for the family and save the leftovers for lunch the next day. Cooking a steak to perfection is really not hard to do once you go through the motions, and by following these tips you’ll get a perfectly cooked steak every time.

Temperature

When it comes to the temperature of your steak, you never want to cook a steak that comes straight out of the fridge. You always want to let the steak come to room temperature before you start cooking it. And in terms of your pan, you want it to be very hot so when the steak hits it starts to get a nice sear immediately.

Resting

No matter how well you cooked your steak, if you don’t let it rest after cooking for at least a few minutes the juices will run out of your steak and make it completely dry. Make sure you leave it to rest before cutting it about half the cooking time.
