This Grilled Shrimp Taco Recipe Will Leave You Wanting More

Tacos are a universally loved dish, and when you combine them with the smoky, sweet flavor of grilled shrimp, you get something truly special. This grilled shrimp taco recipe is not only simple to prepare but also packed with vibrant flavors and fresh ingredients. Let’s dive in.


For the Shrimp:

  • 1 pound of large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the Slaw:

  • 2 cups shredded cabbage
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped red onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • Salt and pepper to taste


  • Corn tortillas, warmed
  • Avocado 
  • Fresh salsa
  • Lime wedges


  1. In a large bowl, mix olive oil, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Add shrimp, toss to coat, and marinate for 10-15 minutes. 
  2. Meanwhile, combine shredded cabbage, red onion, cilantro, and lime juice in another bowl; season and set aside. 
  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high. Thread shrimp on skewers and grill for 2-3 minutes per side until pink. 
  4. Warm tortillas on the grill, then assemble by adding slaw, grilled shrimp, avocado slices, and salsa. 
  5. Serve immediately with lime wedges.
