This Shortbread Recipe Wins Every Time

Shortbread is a delicious, buttery biscuit, beloved in the UK. The beauty of shortbread is that it tastes delicious but is seriously easy to make. In fact, this recipe only has four ingredients! You can add in other flavorings if you want to adapt the taste, or keep it simple and traditional with this chocolate chip recipe.

Shortbread Recipe

Ingredients (to make 12):

  • 1 cup of plain flour
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup of caster sugar
  • 1/4 cup of chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar.
  2. Sift in the flour, stir well.
  3. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  4. Knead into a dough, roll out on a floured surface, then slice into 12 biscuits.
  5. Bake in an oven heated to 320 degrees for 10 – 15 minutes, until golden brown on top.

Perfect with a cup of tea or as an afternoon treat, these biscuits are easy to make and totally delicious!
