Three Snacks To Power You Through Your Day

We can spend a long time planning our main meals, but what about those tasty snacks which see you through from lunch until dinner? Don’t just rely on whatever you’ve got in the cupboard. Plan ahead and make these simple, delicious snacks.

Dark Chocolate Crunch

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup of dark chocolate
  • 1 tablespoon of oil
  • 1/4 cup of mixed nuts
  • 1/4 cup of dried fruit
  • 1/4 cup of dried cereal

Instructions:

  1. Melt the chocolate in a pan.
  2. Stir through the oil.
  3. Finely chop the nuts and fruit into small pieces.
  4. Add the fruit, nuts and cereal to the melted chocolate.
  5. Stir through well, then remove from the heat.
  6. Pour onto a greased, lined tray and leave to cool for at least 2 hours.

Wasabi Peas

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of frozen peas
  • 2 teaspoons of wasabi paste
  • 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of oil

Instructions:

  1. Boil the peas until they are tender.
  2. Heat the oil in a pan. Add the peas, then the wasabi and soy sauce.
  3. Ensure that the peas are coated, remove from the heat.
  4. Store in a sealable container in the fridge for up to 1 week.

Cheese and Peanut Butter Slice

Ingredients:

  • 2 slices of cheese
  • 1 tablespoon of chutney
  • 1 tablespoon of peanut butter

Instructions:

  1. Mix the chutney and peanut butter together.
  2. Spread them over each cheese slice and enjoy!
