It’s a great idea to have a fresh mint plant in your kitchen. This wonderful plant is bursting with flavor and can be used in so many different ways. Here are three uses for this lovely fresh ingredient.

Fresh Mint Tea

If you enjoy a soothing cup of peppermint tea, then you have to try this tea made from fresh mint leaves. Place some mint leaves into a teapot and add water just off the boil. Leave to steep for about 5 minutes, and then strain into your favorite tea mug. The refreshing taste of this soul-warming tea will persuade you to always have a mint plant around.

Tzatziki

Mint in tzatziki is a must-have, as it pairs with the creamy Greek yogurt so well. Grate some cucumber, and squeeze all the liquid out. Mix this with some proper Greek yogurt, garlic, mint, olive oil, and any other herbs you want. Season to taste with salt, and enjoy.

Pea and Mint Soup

This combo works so well every time and is really easy to make. Just cook peas, and then blend with some mint, some veg stock, and any other flavors you fancy. Heat through and serve with crusty bread.
