Thumbprint Cookies Can Now Be Your Go-To Dessert

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter at room temperature
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch sifted
  • strawberry and apricot jam

Instructions

Set the oven to 375 F degrees.

Sift the cornstarch, flour, and salt. Combine all these ingredients together. Mix the butter, cream, and sugar together. Get an electric mixer and beat until you get a fluffy mixture.

Include the eggs and mix once again.

Set the mixer to low speed. Start adding the flour mixture slowly to the butter mix.

Stir everything together, then include the vanilla as well.

Divide the dough into 1 1/4-inch balls. Align them on a baking sheet and use your finger to make space for the jam on each cookie. Add 1/4 teaspoon of jam to the thumbprint cookies. Let them bake for 10 minutes.

Use a bowl to combine the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla together. This is the glaze you need for the cookies. Wait until the cookies are cooled down to add the glaze.
