Unique Ways To Eat Quinoa For Each Meal

Although it is treated like a grain quinoa is actually a seed native to South America. The benefits of quinoa are that it is high in fiber and protein, and it makes for a great alternative for gluten-free people. If you are looking to change up your diet, cut back on carbs, or just try something new,  here are three ways to use quinoa throughout your day.

Breakfast

If you are in a rut with hot cereal in the morning, try making breakfast quinoa instead. Cook it like normal, but treat it as if it was oatmeal and add spices like cinnamon, cloves, or even brown sugar! Top it with nuts, pumpkin seeds, coconut, or even cacao nibs for a sweet but filling breakfast.

Quinoa Salad

Cook up some quinoa and then add it to cabbage, carrots, or whatever vegetables you have on hand. Quinoa is great for soaking up flavors, so try it with something bold like balsamic or soy sauce.

Quinoa Burgers

These burgers are an awesome way to end the day. Combine cooked quinoa with black beans, onions, breadcrumbs, eggs, and peppers for an easy vegetarian burger. Sautee or grill the patties until cooked through and enjoy!
