The food that we eat can have a big impact on our skin, nail and hair health. Whilst a varied, balanced diet is the most important change we can make to boost our overall health, there are certain foods that will have a really beneficial impact on our skin. If you’re looking to improve your skin from the inside out, check out these three key ingredients.

Avocado

Rich in Vitamin E, a key nutrient that keeps skin soft and supple, you can make a face mask from fresh avocado, or make sure you’re getting plenty in your diet. Try a homemade guacamole, avocado on toast, or an avocado and chicken pasta dish for a healthy evening meal.

Fresh Berries

Dark fruits are packed full of anti-oxidants, which help to fight free radicals which can dull and age skin. Try a handful of blueberries over your breakfast, some blackberries with cheese on a cracker, or raspberries and yogurt for a post-dinner treat.

Oily Fish

Fish such as sardines, mackerel, and salmon contain many essential fatty acids which help our bodies stay strong and healthy. These fats are really good for skin health, so aim for two portions a week. Why not lunch on sardines on toast, or try a baked salmon fillet for dinner?
