Boiled eggs are a great protein source and one of the favorite choices for breakfast or dinner. They are delicious in salads, on top of sandwiches, and in many other ways. But isn’t it frustrating when they are difficult to peel?

It’s actually pretty easy to avoid this problem. This is the most common mistake that you’re probably making and here’s what to do instead – simply don’t try to peel the eggs while they are hot. Soak them into cold water instead and peel when they have completely chilled. This simple step will help a lot and you will always have perfectly peeled eggs for your meals.

Here are five ways to peel a hard boiled egg after you’ve cooked it to perfection:

  1. Crack the top and bottom, then blow out the egg.
  2. Add water to a pot, top with a plate, then shake.
  3. Add water to a plastic container, cover, then shake.
  4. Crack shell, insert spoon under shell, then rotate the egg.
  5. Crack the egg, roll on the counter, peel shell while the egg while running it under cold water.

Enjoy!
