When we think about baking, we tend to only think about what humans might like to eat. But many of us have furry companions that also live with us, and if you own a dog, then it’s time to start baking some dog treats for them. Don’t worry, if you’ve never made dog treats before, it’s very easy. In fact, it’s just like baking cookies! Well, sort of.

Control What Your Dog Eats

A lot of dog treats have ingredients that you may not want your pet to eat. Any sugars or preservatives are not good for your dog, and at least with homemade treats, you know exactly what went into each one of them. Most dogs love peanut butter, so a peanut butter-based dog treat is a great choice.

Peanut Butter Treats

To make peanut butter dog treats, all you need is some peanut butter (about ¼ cup), some unsweetened pumpkin puree (⅔ cup), two eggs, and three cups of flour. Combine all of these ingredients together, until they form a cookie dough.

Then, roll them out, and use a cookie cutter of your choice. A bone-shaped cutter is always a good call. Your dog will thank you for these delicious treats, and you can freeze the dough for later as well!
