1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
2 1/2 cups chopped dried mixed fruit
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 egg
2 1/2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon grated orange zest
1 1/2 cups hot brewed tea
1/4 cup lemon marmalade

Instructions

Before you start preparing the Irish barmbrack, you need to put the dried fruit into the hot tea. Leave it in for 2 hours, then drain it completely from the tea.

Once that’s done, you can set the oven to 350 F degrees to preheat.

Use a bowl to mix the nutmeg, baking soda, flour, and cinnamon.

In another bowl, combine the egg, orange zest, marmalade, the fruit, and sugar.

Mix all the ingredients very well together. Start adding the flour bowl slowly, while also stirring. When you’re done, you can fill a Bundt pan with the mixture.

Put the barmbrack in the oven for one hour. Take it out and wait for it to cool down in the pan for 2 hours.

Serve it with your favorite sides and toppings.
