Whipped cream is something people think usually comes out of a can. In reality, making it at home is so easy and can be such a great addition to your favorite treats. It is a beautiful part of desserts that is light, sweet, and can be just what you need. Find out how to make it and what to put it on.

Ingredients

You only need two basic ingredients for whipped cream which are sugar and heavy whipping cream. You can also add in a little vanilla or even the zest of a citrus if you want to give it a different taste.

Method

  1. Put a metal bowl into the freezer for 10-15 minutes before you start the whipped cream. This will help the whipped cream set up faster.
  2. Put the sugar and heavy whipping cream in the bowl and whisk or use a hand mixer for a couple of minutes until stiff peaks form.
  3. Use straight away or save for overnight in the fridge.

Uses

  • This whipped cream will turn your regular coffee into something amazing.
  • Make a quick cake using store bought cookies with the whipped cream layered in between.
  • Put it on top of waffles and pancakes for weekend brunch.
