Sometimes, the smallest things make the biggest impact. At least, that’s the case with these cooking tips, which are easy to learn and implement but can make a big difference to how good of a cook you are. So without further ado, here are our small but mighty cooking tips.

Broth Equals Instant Flavor

Anytime you want to add a quick boost of flavor into a recipe, swap out the water for broth. For example, you can cook rice or quinoa in broth. Chicken, beef, vegetable, whatever you want: it’s very effective.

Don’t Overcrowd

In the interest of being lazy, we often put too much food on our pans at once. But then instead of roasting or crisping up nicely, the food just steams and doesn’t turn out well. So just cook in two rounds. The results will be much better.

Try Deglazing

Another tip that will help you boost the flavors in your dish? Deglazing. This technique, in which you add liquid (like wine, beer, stock, etc.) into a pan in order to help loosen up all the tasty, caramelized bits from the bottom, is very effective at making dishes more flavorful.
