Potassium is a mineral everyone’s body needs. As a mineral, potassium has the ability to regulate fluids, nerve signals, and even blood pressure. If you don’t eat a diet that is high in potassium, your body may not retain water the way it should, and you might feel that your muscles tend to seize up in painful ways. These three fruits are full of potassium and eating a couple of servings every day will help your body stay happy.

Bananas

If you’re a person that bruises easily, you may want to consider adding a banana to your diet. Bananas contain more than 250 milligrams of potassium, and adding a sliced banana to your yogurt or oatmeal in the morning will make it easy to implement it into your diet.

Dates

Another excellent source of potassium are dates. These delicious little dried fruits are found in the Middle East and used for a variety of desserts and dishes. You can eat them on their own, but you should ideally make sure they’ve been pitted.

Cantaloupe

Most people don’t realize that melon, specifically cantaloupe, has a lot of potassium in it. Cantaloupe is a nice fruit to eat by itself, or combine into a fruit salad for some added vitamins and minerals. Choose one or more of these fruits, and eat at least one serving or about half a cup a day.
