All Your Friends Will Love This Homemade Caramel Corn

There is no doubt that salty and sweet go together perfectly, especially in caramel corn. This recipe is super easy to make and you actually only need about 15 minutes of active cooking to achieve it! If you want to host a movie night or even just serve something sweet at a party, this is the recipe to go with.

Instructions

  1. Start off by making 4 quarts of popcorn. You can either do microwave popcorn or make your own stove-top popcorn which is definitely healthier but takes a bit more effort.
  2. Spray a baking dish with cooking spray and put the popcorn in there. Start baking the popcorn at 250 F while you make the caramel.
  3. In a pot, mix 1 cup of brown sugar with 1/2 cup of corn syrup, 1/2 cup of butter or vegan butter and 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
  4. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high stirring constantly, and then stop stirring and boil it for 5 minutes.
  5. Take off the heat, add in 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and stir well.
  6. Pour the caramel over the popcorn and toss well.
  7. Bake for 45-minute stirring occasionally.
  8. Break it apart and serve!
